Surf Life Saving’s mission is to save lives, create great Australians and build better communities. The hardworking volunteers at Chiton Rocks, Goolwa and Port Elliot Surf Life Saving Clubs are proud to live out that mission here in the electorate of Finniss.
Every year, thousands flock to beaches in Finniss to enjoy a seaside lifestyle during warmer months. Volunteers patrol weekends, public holidays and more from October to April, keeping beaches safe and training youngsters. For years I have lived in this community and recognised Surf Life Saving SA’s key role in protecting the public and engaging the community along our coastline.
The State Government has proudly supported Surf Life Saving SA Clubs with equipment and significant grants to provide community groups and volunteers with the tools and infrastructure they need to do their jobs.
Since being elected in 2018, a total of $9.504 million has been invested in the future of three surf lifesaving clubs in Finniss that keep our beaches and community safe.
